Japanese Woodblock Print: Yasaka Shrine by Tomikichiro Tokuriki

Beautiful Yasaka Shrine is captured in this woodblock print by renowned Kyoto artist Tomikichiro Tokuriki. The woodblock print captures the same lightness of a watercolour feel that is typical of so many of his scenes of his home city. It's the style of art that he called 'Kyoto shin-hanga'.

The famous steps of this Gion shrine appear quiet and peaceful in the soft white snow.

Original colour woodblock print.

The art is vintage but appears in good condition. On the left side of the image there is printing ink in the border. A little of the ink has spotted the art at the very edge.

14.5cm ×10cm (including border).
