Japanese Woodblock Print: Kofukuji
The striking pagoda in this woodblock print is very like the impressive black pagoda of the Fujiwaras in Nara.
The design is created in shades of black ink reminiscent of traditional sumi-e ink painting.
The strong drawing of the structure contrasts with the soft natural shapes - the soft grey of the tree in the background is especially lovely.

The art is vintage but appears in good condition. There is a faint smudge of black ink just under the top eave of the pagoda on the left.
10.1 cm × 9 cm (including border measuring 0.7cm approximately).
