The Ukiyoe Furoshiki 'South Wind, Clear Sky' by Hokusai: 'South Wind, Clear Sky' (also known as 'Red Fuji') is one of Japan's most iconic art works, and it was a big inspiration for artists such as the French Impressionists and Vincent Van Gogh.
The Ukiyoe Furoshiki 'South Wind, Clear Sky' (also known as 'Red Fuji') is a part of a series by acclaimed artist Hokusai Katsushika called 'Thirty Six Views of Mount Fuji'. This series was a huge inspiration for artists such as the French Impressionists and Vincent Van Gogh. The series included iconic artworks as 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa', and 'Kajikazawa Inkai'.
Our extra large, single-sided 104cm furoshiki is a beautiful piece of art work in its own right, and makes a wonderful wall-hanging. The clouds and volcanic lava have been silk-screened using a pearlescent white, and they shimmer in the light!
